About me
Mariano Mayans.Formentera, public software and honesty.
I am a developer and I live in Formentera. I work at the Consell Insular as head of new technology implementation on a temporary contract and, from that post, with an authorisation to hold a secondary activity (compatibility authorisation), I have designed and built the digital platforms you see on this website. Trucadors is the company through which I offer that same work to other administrations.
What I have built
The official tourism website formentera.es with its AI assistant in ten languages, the vehicle inspection (ITV) appointment system, the Observatori de Dades, the island's tourism register, the Gastronomic Days votes and the Save Posidonia Project website. All of them are in production and you can visit them. Those I built for the Consell are owned by the Consell: I show them here as what they are, my work.
Where I come from
Before Formentera I worked in cybersecurity teams at private companies. That period is the reason every platform I build ships with strict headers, tested backups, access rules with tests and a minimal attack surface from day one.
How I work
With artificial intelligence as a tool, not as an excuse. I use the most capable models on the market to multiply what one person can deliver, but every line that reaches production is reviewed, tested and documented by me. I prefer a small system that works to a large one that promises.
Why this company
Because what solved the problems of an island of eleven thousand people works for any town council, island council, cabildo or provincial council. And because I believe public administration deserves software of its own, without templates or perpetual licences, that it can audit and that belongs to it.
